To be honest, in the past I have always been a little bit weirded-out when I heard the word blog. But during a recent trip to NYC to visit my sister, somewhere in the midst of a {champagne-filled} conversation she mentioned blogging. My sister, Aubrey, is super cool and way more in-the-know than me, so it sparked my interest when she said I should start my own.
I am a former high school math teacher – I say this because in no way, shape, or form am I a great writer. However, I do like to talk and I love sharing ideas and thoughts as well as hearing what has or has not worked for others. If being a mother has taught me anything, it is to be open to any and all help/advice/suggestions.
I am now a stay-at-home mom to my 2 precious boys, Caleb and Asa. Like many other moms in my shoes, there are many days that I feel trapped in our house. By no means am I complaining because I love my babies more than life BUT it is hard to spend so much time at home. It’s also hard to load the baby in his carrier after making sure he’s had a recent diaper change, get a bottle ready, pack the diaper bag with all the things I might need, make sure the 2 year old has gone potty, has his juice, snacks and at least one car and/or truck in hand, walk down the stairs to the car with the carrier on one arm while holding the toddler’s free hand, get them both buckled in, and run back upstairs to grab a protein bar for myself because who knows the next chance I’ll have to feed myself. Once we are all finally in the car, I have usually forgotten where we were headed in the first place – but hey, at least I’ve gotten in my weight lifting and cardio for the day haha. Needless to say, if I am going to leave the house, it is going to be for a very good reason.
Now that I’m exhausted from that explanation….
I really just want to use this blog as an outlet for me personally. Social media has made it so easy for people to connect quickly and a blog sounded like a great way for me to do that. Spending so much time with my littles, I crave adult interaction. I plan to talk about whatever is going on with me, my family and/or friends, as well as some other tips and tricks I have found to help me in this crazy life. You can check out the About Me section for a few more details on what this blog will be all about. I would love your input as well – please don’t be shy; I welcome any and all advice or anything you just feel like saying. I hope you enjoy what you see, and if you find just one thing funny/useful/relatable then I have accomplished all I am here to do. Let’s be friends, shall we? 🙂
We all get so busy that we don’t always have time to share our lives with the people we love. So I look forward to reading about your victories and good days so I can be happy for you and your struggles and bad days so I can provide support and prayers.

You’ll definitely enjoy blogging as an outlet. I started one years ago for the same reason but I talked about a bunch of things that didn’t exactly tie together well. This new one I’ve got, it’s also an outlet for my ideas and also advice and stories that people have told me I should share with others.
It’s also fab for meeting like minded people. You’ll really enjoy the interaction from the blogging community.
Your boys are adorable!

I started my blog 3 years ago for the same reason, and it has been my saving grace. Although I love my children and I love that I get to be home with them, I also need something that’s just for me. Which is what my blog is. So from one sahm to another–I am so glad that you are doing this for yourself! Welcome to the blogging world : )
